Chap Goh Mei

Time sure flies. Today is the 15th day of Chinese New Year.

A little background of Chap Goh Mei: It represents the fifteenth and final day of the Lunar New Year period. It is celebrated with prayers and offerings to mark the end of the Lunar New Year. Usually, the family members will gather and have a dinner together. Previously, tonight will be the only night where the young, single and eligible females get to leave home (with chaperon, of course), gather to toss tangerines into the sea, in hope that their future spouse will pick it up. The tossing of tangerines into the sea is still being practised today, but I'm not very sure if it still carries its original reason :D.

I'm putting the background of Chap Goh Mei here in this blog so that my little heroes understand its significance...not just merely saying it and celebrating it.

Any special plans tonight? As for me, no...it's gonna be the usual ones :)

Anyway, wishing everyone a Happy Chap Goh Mei :))
