This is You Jin's second month in school. So far, he doing great in school - does his homework fairly well, made more friends as well. However, there is this wee bit problem -- getting up in the morning.
You Jin goes to bed as early as 8.45pm and we would wake him up at about 6.30am. Usual routine, he would want DH to drag him out of the bed because HIS LEGS ARE STILL ASLEEP, HIS EYES ARE TOO TIRED...yaddah yaddah yaddah...
There was an extra scene this morning. Right after we woke him up, he threw tantrum and started to rant about the fact that this Saturday is a schooling day. I asked him why was he making a fuss about it and these were his answers:
1) I'll have to wake up very early this Saturday.
2) I'll have more homework this weekend.
3) I'll have lesser playtime this weekend.
THAT'S WHY I'M ANGRY AND I DON'T WANNA GO TO SCHOOL THIS SATURDAY!
Those were the words that flew out from You Jin's mouth this morning. Goodness, this kid is barely 7 years old and he complains too much..way too much. That certainly made me upset for a moment and I could feel smoke coming out from my ears. DH sensed my anger and told me to just ignore him. DH handled him. I took DH's advice and went on to prepare breakfast.
Geez, how kids have changed. I remember that when I was a kid, I didn't dare to complain much (especially about school) to my parents.
The statement "I DON'T WANNA GO TO SCHOOL" never even existed back then.
Next challenge in hand: How to coax him to go to school this Saturday. Today is Wednesday, that would mean I still have two days to come up with a good plan (which minuses the rotan). Wish me luck:)

you're already very kind to your children. the last i remember, my mom used to whack me out from bed. pour water on my face and practically scream...lol. these days....not much...hahahahaha
Hey Ai-Ling, so what's your solution or idea to coax him?? Does it work??
Wow... 6.30 is very, very early. I admit, I'm still in bed snoozing at the time. Is the kindy far away from your house?
calvin: i've reached the "nirvana" stage. so, that's why i am not as ganas as your mommy :D
micz: bribed him with a ben 10 book :D. didn't really work out well, but anyway, he still had to drag himself to school :D
jenny: yj is in yr 1, no more in kindy. his school isn't very far from our house, just about 5kms away. he wakes up at 6.30am and has to leave home by 7am. why leave that early? traffic jam problem :(
