Mommy-Lil' Hero Bonding Time

Yesterday was a special day for You Jin and I. I brought him to my office and left him there while I attended a meeting. He brought along his books to keep himself occupied. As long as he had books and computer (and snacks), I was confident that he'd be able to behave himself.

By the time I finished my meeting, I found him happily watching Mr. Bean while munching the snacks :). Obviously, he found Mr Bean more entertaining than his books!

We headed out for lunch (yup, he decided what he wanted for lunch...so, we had pizza), did some shopping and then we went over to one of his favourite places - bookshop! I felt that it's about time for You Jin to read other books besides those Read-it-Yourself tales by Ladybird. I let him pick two books by Enid Blyton. He chose: i - Peter and the Magic Shadow, and ii - The Flopperty Bird. He picked two workbooks as well. He told me that his Malay Language isn't that good, so he wanted to do some practice during this school break (NO...mommy didn't influence him at all, it was his own decision). I picked one story book from the Read-it-Yourself by Ladybird for Wei Jin.

By the time we got home, he was very tired, but from the twinkle in his eyes, I know that he was one happy, satisfied kid. I feel that my little heroes need to be exposed to my workplace environment so that they know the nature of my job. Anyway, it's trimester break at the moment, and there are very few students around. Therefore, his presence in my office didn't interfere my work.

Anyway, this mommy-son-bonding day is a hush-hush thingy and Wei Jin doesn't know about it (yet). He'll get his turn this Friday :)
